Current LSU head coach Ed Orgeron started his career with the Tigers in 2015 as a defensive line coach, however this was not his first experience coaching in the SEC.
Orgeron was hired as the head football coach at the University of Mississippi in 2005 but was not successful. During the 2007 season, Orgeron’s final season with the Rebels, his team finished 0-8 in SEC play and 3-9 overall. This was Ole Miss’ worst record since 1982.
“I had a tremendous opportunity at Ole Miss but I didn’t get it done,” Orgeron said Monday at his weekly press conference.
Although Coach O had a rocky career in Oxford, he is forgetting his past as he returns this weekend wearing different colors.
“This game is not about me,” Orgeron said.
LSU is coming off of a big win against top-ten ranked Auburn. LSU is favored to win against Ole Miss by seven points.
The game in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will kickoff at 6:15 p.m. on ESPN.
