LSU football had a historic weekend, coming back to beat Auburn 27-23 from a 20 point deficit.
The win moved the Tigers back into the rankings, 24th in the AP and 25th in the Coaches’ polls.
The Tigers travel to Oxford this weekend to take on LSU head coach Ed Orgeron’s former team, Ole Miss.
A win against the Rebels would make LSU bowl eligible.
Linebacker Devin White has been a big part of the Tiger’s recent success.
The sophomore received the Chuck Bednarik National Player of the Week Award Tuesday, after being named an SEC defensive player of the week on Monday.
White leads LSU in tackles this season, adding a career high 15 tackles and a sack in Saturday’s game.
Junior defensive back Donte Jackson says the young Tiger’s efforts have been noticed by the team.
“I like to call him a war dog because he has it at every point in the game,” Jackson said.
White’s contributions go further than just on the field on Saturday nights.
Jackson says his teammate is a hard worker.
“Whether it is film, studying, on the field, practice, games, he just does everything at a high level,” Jackson said. “So, us seeing this, it is no surprise for us because he is a hard worker.”
The Tigers will be on the road against the Rebels with kick off at 6:15 p.m. this Saturday.
