LSU senior wide receiver DJ Chark said last week that he knows fans would like to see more deep passes.
Saturday night the Tigers defeated Chattanooga 45-10 in Tiger Stadium, and Chark and the rest of the wide receiver core gave the fans just what they wanted.
The Tigers had 9 completions for 232 yards. Chark reeled in a 48-yard reception. Sophomore Stephen Sullivan brought in a 46-yard catch. Sophomore Drake Davis picked up 36 yards on a pass from senior quarterback Danny Etling.
Despite giving up 74 yards for 11 penalties, the Tigers dominated in the air and on the ground. Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada’s offense amassed 454 yards of total offense.
The Tigers travel to Starkville next weekend to take on Mississippi State in their first Southeastern Conference matchup of the season.
