The Tigers rode junior running back Derrius Guice to a 14-0 first half lead over BYU.
The Heisman hopeful ran the ball 20 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. He also has one catch for four yards.
Guice barreled in from the 4 and 1 yard line on his two touchdown runs.
Senior quarterback Danny Etling has been incredibly effective in the first half. Etling was 9-10 for 115 yards.
After an interception by freshman cornerback Andraez Williams, Etling connected with senior receiver D.J. Chark for a 52 yard gain down to the two. Guice would score on his two touchdowns two plays later.
Defensively, LSU sniffled the BYU offense. The Cougars finished the half with only 47 yards and 3 first downs on 17 plays.
The Tigers has limited BYU to five yards on seven carries.
LSU has outgained BYU 269 yards to 47 yards. The Tigers are also dominating the time of possession battle with 21:48 to 8:12 advantage.
