“Enjoy it. Enjoy every minute of it.”
This is the advice that LSU Head Coach Ed Oregron gave to his twenty-two freshman and four new coaches that will take the field in Tiger Stadium for their first time in the home opener against Chattanooga. The upcoming game will also be Orgeron’s first home opener as the Tiger’s head coach.
“I know it’s going to be an emotional night,” Orgeron said. “But, they’ll be fine. We’ll calm them down.”
After shutting out BYU in their season opener 27-0, the LSU Tigers are looking to improve their perfect record to 2-0. Holding the Cougars to less than 100 yards of total offense, the LSU defense proved itself as a dominant force.
Orgeron discussed how the team is ready and excited for playing in Death Valley, but they know to stay focused on the task at hand.
All-American edge rusher Arden Key will not play against the Mocs, but Coach Orgeron said he was showing signs of improvement.
The Tigers will host Chattanooga on Saturday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. Fans can watch the game on SEC Network.
