On a windy day at Bernie Moore Stadium, a couple of events produced some outrageous times that won’t be looked at when the national championship fields are announced.
Still, the weather couldn’t overshadow some solid performances by several LSU athletes.
Freshman Demar Forbes set a new personal record in the triple jump, with a wind-legal PR of 52 feet.
Senior pole vaulter Josh Dominguez also set a new PR. Dominguez cleared 17 feet and 7.25 inches to take first place in the event.
The weather’s effect was obvious by the time the women’s 100-meter final came about. Senior Samantha Henry led a pack of seven Lady Tigers racing in the final to win the event.
Henry’s time will not be counted as an official time, since the tailwind exceeded 4 meters/second.
