LSU senior center fielder Kirsten Shortridge was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week Tuesday by the Amateur Softball Association after the Tigers swept South Carolina last weekend.
The Keller, Texas, native went 8-for-11 at the plate, scored seven runs and stole three bases.
She matched her career-high hit total with four hits in Sunday’s game against the Gamecocks. Shortridge also tied an LSU single-game record by scoring four times during the matchup.
This is Shortridge’s second award of the week after she nabbed Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday.
