LSU received yet another early commitment for the 2011 football recruiting class as Breaux Bridge defensive tackle Quentin Thomas made his verbal commitment to the Tigers during spring break, according to Rivals.com.
The 6-foot-3-inch, 265-pounder was recruited primarily by LSU defensive line coach Brick Haley and committed to the Tigers before an official visit was made. Thomas is the 10th member of the 2011 class so far for LSU.
Thomas joins an elite group of LSU players who have come from Breaux Bridge, including former standouts such as defensive back Jonathan Zenon, running back Domanick Davis and defensive tackle Charles Alexander.
Thomas is rated as four-star prospect by Rivals and chose LSU over his other offer from Texas A&M. The two-year starter at Breaux Bridge earned All-District 5-4A honors last season, chalking up 3.5 tackles for losses, 2.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and three pass break-ups along with an interception.
