Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Astrid Merget announced Friday she will step down from her position and become a University faculty member.Merget’s time as an administrator will end July 1, according to a University news release.”I will join the faculty in the Institute of Public Administration [in the E.J. Ourso College of Business] and reconnect with the field that years ago ignited my passions for scholarship,” Merget said in the relase.Merget thanked her fellow administrators and Chancellor Michael Martin for working alongside her during the University’s budget problems.”I wish [Martin] and all our colleagues across the LSU community my very best wishes in navigating the fiscal currents ahead,” Merget said in the release.
