SG Senate passed amendments to its bylaws and the College Council constitution Wednesday.
Senate gave $250 to a graduate student to attend a conference in Charlotte, N.C.
The money, from the senate contingency account, went to Robyn Barthel, graduate assistant for the First Year Experience, to attend to the 2010 National College Learning Associations Conference on Sept. 30.
Sen. Nicole Hansen, graduate school, said Barthel would not be able to attend the conference without assistance because travel funding for graduate students is not available.
The bill that amended the College Council constitution was by written by Sen, Justin Terracciano, University Center for Freshman Year, Sen. Wade Eveland, College of Engineerng and Sen. Emily Landry, E.J Ourso College of Business.
SG also amended the SG Bylaws for the second time this semester, with a bill written by Landry, Terracciano and Eveland.
The original version of the bylaws allocated 65 percent of funding to individual college councils based on enrollment in that college. The SG bylaws now allocates 60 percent. The other 40 percent is distributed evenly to college councils.
Sen. Zac Lemoine, Manship School of Mass Communication, proposed the amendment to change the percentage of College Council funding dispersed to the academic areas.
Senate also approved the SG budget with the changes to the college council allocation.
Senate approved appointments for court justices, the election board, the presidential cabinet and the Student Technology Fee Oversight Committee.
