LSU junior outside linebacker Michael Divinity will return to LSU for his senior season, he announced via Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
“This was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make,” Divinity said on Twitter. “But I know I’m making the right decision. Time to start getting ready to win the national championship this year.”
Divinity stepped up big in LSU’s pass rush after losing K’Lavon Chaisson to an ACL injury in the first game of the season. Divinity was tied with safety Grant Delpit for a team-leading five sacks in 2018.
Divinity is the second LSU player in as many days to announce his decision to stay in school instead of entering the 2019 NFL Draft.
Decisions from other draft eligible juniors, including linebacker Devin White and defensive end Rashard Lawrence, have yet to be announced
The deadline to declare for the draft is Monday, Jan. 14.
