Stars: 4.5/5
This cute indie game has brought me so much anger that I love it so much. Devolver Digital’s “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout” was one of the hottest game of the summer with 10 million downloads a week after the release.
The jellybean creatures may look cute, but the players behind the screen are out to win. The point of the game is to be one of the qualifiers for the next round. Each game holds 60 players, and the numbers will dwindle down for each round.
The courses are fun to play but will take a few tries to master. Some courses are more frustrating than others, but that is the least of some players’ worries. Other players can grab onto you and sabotage your chances of qualifying. Some players would even wait at the finish line to purposely troll others.
But, this is what makes the game fun. Anything can happen and one hit can ruin your chances of winning. It’s silly, creative and simple. Players can also customize their jellybean creature.
“Fall Guys” is also multiplayer. Play with friends and see who can be the victor or loser at the end.
Overall, I love this game. I was kind of bored of playing the same courses on loop, but I also understand that the developers were not expecting to have such a big audience when they first released the game.
My concerns may go away with the announcement for season two. The next season will be out in October with new costumes and courses, and they will have a Middle Ages theme.
It’s a wholesome game until you come face-to-face with one of the trolls at the finish line. You will have your favorite courses and the courses that you despise. The jellybean creatures will make your day or make it worse. Anything goes in “Fall Guys” but being the victor is the only motivation that you will need.
Players can purchase the game on the PS4 or on store.steampowered.com.
