Olympic gymnast and sexual assault survivor and activist Aly Raisman will be speaking at the University as part of the Delta Gamma sorority’s Lectureship in Values and Ethics event, according to the Delta Gamma Facebook page. 
The event will be held April 11 at 7 p.m. in the PMAC, and will be free and open to the public. Actress and activist Gabrielle Union spoke at the event in 2016.
“Raisman uses her platform to promote positive body image and encourage everyone to be comfortable and confident in their own skin,” Delta Gamma said in their Facebook post.
Raisman won six medals in her two trips to the Summer Olympics in 2012 and 2016. She is the second-most decorated American gymnast of all time.
She was one of 156 women who testified against former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, who was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for sexually assaulting more than 200 women. Raisman’s testimony on Jan. 19 was widely shared.
“Your honor, I ask you to give Larry the strongest possible sentence, which his actions deserve, for by doing so you will send a message to him and to other abusers that they cannot get away with their horrible crimes,” Raisman said in her testimony. “They will be exposed for the evil they are, and they will be punished to the maximum extent of the law.”
Raisman filed a lawsuit against USA Gymnastics on Feb. 28, saying high-ranking officials within USA Gymnastics knew about Nassar’s actions but did not take action.
