Update: 4/6 9:51 p.m.
LSUPD investigated the area and determined there was no threat. The University is returning to normal operations, said Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard.
LSUPD received a report of a man with a long slender object, possibly a gun. They sent out a warning message out of precaution.
The man was identified and the object was determined to be an umbrella, Ballard said.
There was no real threat, but LSUPD is pleased that the suspicious activity was reported, Ballard said.
“We ask people to continue to follow see something, say something,” Ballard said.
This is the second reported armed subject on campus this week. Both were quickly investigated by LSUPD who determined there was no threat.
