Veteran’s Day is a national holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (Nov. 11) to honor U.S. veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954, which marked the armistice signing between the Allies of World War I and Germany in Compiègne, France.
