Activities were halted for the LSU Pi Beta Phi sorority on Nov. 8 for potential hazing violations. The alleged incident involved an active member ordering a new member to drink an entire gallon of milk within a certain amount of time, according to an LSUPD report.
Communications Director for the national Pi Beta Phi organization Christian Wargo said in an email on Nov. 8 the organization believes no one was harmed and no alcohol was involved.
“The chapter is cooperating with local and headquarters authorities to address these concerns,” Wargo said. “During this time, chapter activities have halted to allow full attention to this matter.”
LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard said the University has entered the investigative process and that the investigation is still ongoing.
This is the third Greek organization at the University to be investigated this semester. Pi Kappa Phi and Delta Chi fraternities received interim suspensions earlier this semester from the University for reports of misconduct.
