Couples who participated in the traditional Valentine’s Day kiss late Sunday night now have an answer to why the bells in Memorial Tower did not chime at midnight.
Jim Henry, facility maintenance manager, said the Chancellor’s office must approve the additional chime, but the office failed to notify Facility Services to ring the bells this Feb.14.
Henry said they have not programmed the bells to ring for the last several years.
He said Valentine’s Day is the only time the bells ever ring past 10 p.m.
