Holocaust survivor Irving Roth shared with University students on Wednesday his story of struggle and survival during his time in German concentration camps.
After surviving one of the most horrific events in history, Roth recounted his experiences in Auschwitz, other concentration camps and post-World War II Europe during a talk as part of an event sponsored by Christians United for Israel, the pro-Israel student organization.
At the age of 14, Roth was separated from his family and brought to Auschwitz, a Nazi concentration camp in Germany. He was one of 300 survivors to make it through the first night. The others were exterminated in gas chambers throughout the camp.
Roth said he worked as a stable boy during his time in the camp, despite not knowing anything about horses until then.
