Distractions off the field can be the downfall of a team, but a different breed of distraction has been a grounding force for the No. 2-ranked LSU football team.
“If you got a glimpse of the Jumbotron in the third quarter, you would have definitely seen Sam [Montgomery],” said sophomore defensive end Barkevious Mingo. “He’s a easy.”
Others on the team noticed Montgomery’s emotional display and took note.
“The defense is always making it fun,” said senior tight end Mitch Joseph.
Montgomery had a simple explanation for his nationally televised moment of spontaneity.
“I was just hyped up,” Montgomery said. “We’ve been through so much adversity off the field, I was just ready to show that we’re still a stable
