Spotify, a new music streaming service, has recently landed in the United States and is providing students with a way to legally listen to as much music as their ears can handle.
Spotify allows instant access to more than 15 million songs, which users can organize into playlists and share with friends via websites like Facebook and Twitter.
The music service was introduced to the U.S. on July 14, but has been available in seven European countries since its launch in Sweden in 2008, according to a news release.
Mechanical engineering doctoral student Paul Williams is originally from England – one of the first places to be introduced to Spotify.
Williams said the service took a while to catch on and most people only use the free version.
Spotify is available for free, or users can subscribe to the service for a monthly fee that will allow more access and disable music-interrupting advertisements.
