The Manship School of Mass Communication is actively pursuing an academic exchange program with Turkish universities after four faculty members visited the country in late May.
Ralph Izard, former interim dean; David Kurpius, interim associate vice-chancellor of enrollment; Bob Ritter, Student Media director; and Bob Mann, Reilly Center co-director, spent seven days traveling the country and meeting officials from Fatih University, Mevlana University, Selçuk University and Nigde University.
Of the four, Mann says a partnership with Fatih University, a small, private university in Istanbul, is most promising.
