BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The state Senate has approved a bill transferring the University of New Orleans from the Louisiana State University System into a different college system that focuses more on regional universities.
Thursday’s vote was 35-0 in favor of putting UNO into the University of Louisiana System. It’s not the final vote on the matter but the vote puts both legislative chambers on record as supporting the move and it appears likely to gain final approval before the end of the legislative session.
