A 19-year-old man was struck by a train near the Tigerland area early Friday morning, according to BRPD spokesperson Sgt. Don Coppola.
BRPD’s preliminary investigation shows the man, who was walking southbound along the railroad tracks, ignored “audible warnings” that a train was headed northbound.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene around 2 a.m. and the man was taken to the hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing, according to Coppola.
