At the end of the first half in Saturday’s game against Wofford, it looked like it was going to be a long season for LSU men’s basketball.
The Terriers (0-1) took a 43-39 lead into the halftime break thanks to a 53% mark shooting from the field.
However, an Australian (not named Ben Simmons) led the charge in the second half for LSU (1-0).
Duop Reath, of Perth, led LSU in points, rebounds, blocks and steals as the Tigers outscored the visitors 52-26 in the second period and won the game 91-69.
Reath ended the game with 23 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals.
Aaron Epps (3-4 3PT) and Wayde Sims (2-3 3PT) ended the game with 17 and 13 points, respectively.
Skylar Mays and Antonio Blakeney both got into double digits for the Tigers, scoring 10 apiece.
Nathan Hoover led Wofford with 18 points, going 4-6 from behind the arc.
LSU’s next game is Tuesday against Southern Miss in the PMAC. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
