Juveniles charged, released to parents after taking University golf carts
On July 4, two juveniles were apprehended and charged with theft after a group of teens were seen driving two University golf carts on Louisiana Avenue, said LSUPD spokesperson Lt. Kevin Scott. Shortly after 12 p.m., LSUPD received a request for assistance from the Baton Rouge Police Department after BRPD encountered the juveniles, Scott said. BRPD made contact with the golf carts and the 10 juveniles fled. Two juveniles, aged 14 and 16, were apprehended and charged by both BRPD and LSUPD, Scott said. The juveniles were then released to their parents. The exact time of the theft is unknown, Scott said.
Two men issued summons for criminal trespassing
On June 28, Nicholas Escher, 23, and Josue Breaux, 23, were arrested by LSUPD after trespassing at The Club at LSU Union Square, formerly known as the LSU Faculty Club, Scott said. Officers on duty near the East Campus Apartments observed Escher and Breaux pull up to The Club in a truck and enter the building through an open door. Escher and Breaux were found moving their belongings into a room inside the club, Scott said. LSUPD removed the individuals from the premises and both were issued a summons for criminal trespassing before being released, Scott said.
