Green Bay, Wisc.— LSU’s start to the 2016 season got off on the wrong foot.
If not for a few mistakes, the Badgers could lead larger than 3-0.
Wisconsin broke a scoreless tie with 4:13 left in the first after turning the ball over in the redzone and being stuffed on a fourth and one on the Tigers 24-yard line.
The Badgers capitalized on an LSU turnover after sophomore running back Derrius Guice fumbled on the LSU 36-yard line.
LSU hasn’t been able to get into a rhythm on offense, after holding the ball for only eight minutes in the first half. The Tigers were also 0-for-4 on third down in the first half.
Wisconsin ran a total of 42 plays in the first half and gained 180 yards on offense compared to LSU’s 21 plays and 64 total yards.
Junior running back Leonard Fournette carried the ball 11 times in the first half for 35 yards.
The Tigers’ passing game has struggled junior quarterback Brandon Harris who is 3-for-8 with only 38 yards.
LSU will receive the ball in the second half.
