After collecting Freshman All-America team honors from the USA Today and The Sporting News, LSU redshirt freshman guard William Clapp added another accolade to his shelf Monday when the Football Writers Association of America announced his inclusion in their 2015 Freshman All-America Team.
Clapp, who started the season opener at left guard before rotating to right guard for the last 11 games, spearheaded the Tigers’ Southeastern Conference-leading rushing attack that averaged 256.8 yards per game.
The New Orleans native helped sophomore running back Leonard Fournette gash defenses for an LSU record 1,953 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns.
Clapp finished 2015 with 81.5 knockdowns in 779 offensive snaps.
