A 19-year-old University student reported that she was raped Aug. 30 in a parking lot near the Rec Center.
LSUPD Capt. Ricky Adams said between 11 p.m. and midnight the victim reported that someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her into another vehicle.
The victim alleged she was raped in the vehicle by at least two people and then released. The victim then got back into her vehicle and drove to a friend’s apartment.
After speaking with her friends, the victim reported the incident to LSUPD and was transported to a local hospital, Adams said.
Because the victim said she was blindfolded during the attack, she was unable to give a description of the suspects or vehicle, Adams said.
In addition, Adams said an armed robbery was reported on Highland Road on Aug. 27.
Adams said a male University student was walking from the Circle K gas station on Highland Road to his residence hall when he was allegedly approached by a black male.
The suspect allegedly pointed a revolver at the victim, told him to empty his pockets and then fled the scene.
The robbery suspect is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 200 pounds, with short-to-medium length hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black shirt and dark blue jeans during the attack.
Adams said the investigations are ongoing in both attacks. Anyone with information on either attack should contact LSUPD at 578-3231.
