The city of Baton Rouge woke up to snow covered city today, creating a Winter Wonderland across town.
Snow began to fall in the early hours of the day, covering up everything in site but a painting a pretty picture
The unexpected weather prompted some safety concerns. Louisiana State University officials announced that classes and campus activity will be cancelled January 22. Courses will continue through Moodle and Zoom meetings.
Due to the campus closures, the new drop date for classes will be January 24, and the last day to add a class will be January 27.
City officials are advising that residents stay off the roads due to the high risk of dangerous roads and freezing temperatures. If you go out to enjoy the snow, please remain safe but have fun
