Many students across the United States are concerned about where they stand financially due to The Trump Administration’s recent financial freeze. On January 28, the Trump administration announced a pause on federal funding . Although a federal judge has paused the executive order, this has not paused the concern and commotion among students.
This concern and commotion can be felt on Louisiana State University’s campus as well. Many students are being introduced to new anxiety and new potential financial burdens.
Louisiana State University student Jayla Tote spoke on how it makes her feel.
“Im more on edge just trying to figure out where Im going to get my money. Classes are already stressful enough Im not trying to worry about paying for classes as well,” Jayla Tote said.
According to the LSU website, 98% of first-year undergraduate students receive financial aid whether from grants, loans, or scholarships. This is why many students like Jayla Tote feel the urge to scrabble for ways to secure their seats financially.
While many students, educators and families wait for announcements from within the White House. The best thing to do is stay informed. If you’re feeling more stress and anxiety seek out campus counselors and remember help is around the corner.
