The LSU Softball team competed against Southeastern Louisiana Sunday afternoon.
Both teams would get off to a really slow start, as there would be no points in the first four innings.
It wouldn’t be until The Southeastern Lions scored in the top of the 5th inning, while the Tigers would remain at 0.
The Lions would then score another point in the top of the sixth inning while the Tigers found their groove and would tie up the game 2-2.
Going into the top of the 7th inning, the Lions would not score. Although they did have two runners in scoring position, it would be left fielder Jadyn Laneaux, who made an over-the-shoulder catch, to give LSU a chance to walk it off with the score tied, 2-2.
In the bottom of the 7th inning, Avery Hodge, Danieca Coffey and Maci Bergeron would load up the bases. It would be first baseman Tori Edwards’ turn to bat. Edwards launched the pitch deep into center field to give time for Hodge to score the game winning run.
The final score for the Lions and the Tigers were 3-2, which concluded Tiger Classic, leaving the Tigers with a 5-0 record.
