February 14, 2025 – Baton Rouge, LA – A protest erupted outside Louisiana State University’s Student Union this morning in response to the nationwide deployment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Demonstrators gathered to voice their opposition to the actions of the federal agency, with many showing solidarity for undocumented immigrants facing the threat of deportation.
The protestors, holding signs with powerful messages such as “Education Not Deportation” and “No Human Is Illegal,” voiced their concerns over policies surrounding deportation, citizenship, and the impact of the Trump administration’s immigration stance. The demonstration was fueled by growing anxiety within immigrant communities about the increasing presence of ICE agents across the country.
“A lot of undocumented people are scared to come out and speak their voice. By being here, we provide them a voice,” David Guzman
The protest at LSU is part of a larger wave of demonstrations that have been spreading across college campuses nationwide, reflecting the heightened tension surrounding U.S. immigration policies and the safety of undocumented individuals. The situation remains fluid, with students and activists continuing to rally for change and support for their peers in the face of growing enforcement actions.
