Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, located on Highland Road is known for its chilled desserts and generous business strategies. They have several flavors, such as cookie butter, s’mores and strawberry shortcake. Their main goal is to spread generosity and kindness throughout Baton Rouge.
Jeremiah’s organizes several of these charitable events with L-S-U’s Panhellenic Council every month. Aside from PHC givebacks, Jeremiah’s partners with the National Society of Black Engineers and the Vietnamese student organizations. Their busiest days have been Saturdays and Sundays, depending on how many givebacks they have the week prior.
“Our core value is being generous, so that’s just what we do; we want to be able to give back and we’re fortunate enough to be in a situation where we have fundraisers and giving back to the community,” Jeremiah’s Manager Cody Loveland said.
“We want to support those who support us by coming here,” Loveland said.
These givebacks bring in customers for Jeremiah’s while also playing a key role in raising money for each sorority’s philanthropy. The more customers who come to support Jeremiah’s, the more philanthropies down the row benefit from the money they receive.
Jeremiah’s has been hosting givebacks since their opening in 2022.
“I was one of the first people on a systemic level to organize a semester-long giveback with Jeremiah’s and that happened in January of 2024 when I started my role as Vice President of Philanthropy for Delta Zeta,” Alexis Steckler said.
In March, Jeremiah’s is hosting a giveback to raise money for adult literacy.
