The owner, Johan Martinez, spoke about what truly makes this restaurant special.

“The food, I think the food has especially authentic Mexican textures and the flavors as well, like our tacos.”

Thanks to a TikTok video highlighting the restaurant, they received more customers. This boost of popularity managed to keep them running, but it might not be enough in the long term

Some note that the location is slightly hidden which may stop people looking for a new restaurant from seeing it. Johan is looking forward to the future where he hopes more customers will stop by to try the authentic cuisine.

“So it’s a dream that I had cause I always worked in the kitchen and my dream was always to have a kitchen of my own – a restaurant of my own.

Johan, who is a passionate cook, worked for BRQ as a chef before opening Taqueria la Catrina. He always dreamed of opening a restaurant since he worked at a restaurant himself.

“Hopefully the future becomes better, sales and stuff like that. Hopefully my future comes true.”
