After a hearing on Tuesday, Louisiana’s first circuit court of appeals ruled that it will not allow evidence of Madison Brooks’ past sexual behavior in future court proceedings as of now.
One consideration the court cited was the “Rape Shield Law,” which prohibits introducing a victim’s past sexual behavior to protect their privacy.
Brooks, a 19-year-old LSU student, was assaulted by a group of four men while intoxicated leaving what was formerly known as “Reggie’s” in tigerland.
Two of the men are accused of raping brooks before she was dropped off on Burbank, where she was subsequently struck by a vehicle shortly after the incident.
All four suspects have been indicted in connection with her death.
