The Women’s center is celebrating its 30th year and it needs your help in increasing student impact.
LSU’s increased enrollment has prompted the Women’s center to explore new ways of reaching all students across campus.
Currently, the Women’s center provides a safe and inclusive environment for all students, free of charge. The center offers study spaces, classrooms, free products and much more.
To spread comfort and awareness across campus, the Women’s center hosts tablings and events promoting student success, leadership, and career development. Their recent event “Be Your Own Boss” partnered with the African American Cultural Center (AACC) to provide a crash course on career readiness.
Although the Women’s center looks through the lens of issues women face at LSU, it is open to any and everyone. Director of the Women’s Center, Summer Steib strives for student success and excellence through the center.
“Everyone is welcome in our space. We want everyone to come and benefit from the great programs and initiatives that we have going on, that were hosting, or that were partners on across campus” Steib explained.
Although the Women’s Center is doing its best to foster an inclusive environment, it is always looking for improvements. If you have ways to increase student engagement, you can email @wc.lsu.edu.
