LSU Softball head coach Beth Torina spoke to the media following her squad’s series win versus Alabama.
Junior Jalia Lassiter had a great series versus Alabama with four hits and four RBI’s. She transferred to LSU after two years at Ole Miss and now she is having her best year yet.
“It’s nice to have someone in the lineup thats new to us, but has a ton of experience in the SEC, you know and I think there’s no substitute for experience,” Coach Torina said. “So, what she has brought to us has been great.”
The strength of this year’s squad is their speed and Coach Torina wants to make sure her team is taking advantage of that ability.
“The speed is definitely one of our strengths,” Coach Torina said. “So I think, you know, we’ve done a good job of making that be a factor of continuing to apply pressure with the speed and just making it a huge part of our game this year.”
Next up for the Tigers is in-state matchup against Louisiana Tech on Wednesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. CT inside Tiger Park.
