Louisiana State University recently held and even that has pages and heads turning every year. The LSU Agriculture Center held the Book Bazaar and it was the place to be.
People could find children’s books, adult books, cooking, history, textbooks and other wide range genres of books at the event.
CD’s and Vinyls were even on sale for as low as a dollar.
Instruction and outreach Librarian, Mitchell Fontenot, gives a glimpse of what the book bazaar is.
“A wonderful organization that puts on this 3 day book sale that’s coming up. Usually in late March early April and it’s a great day to go and look at over 60,000 books and get some rare treasures and awesome finds” Fontenot said.
This event was not only beneficial for the book lovers out there but LSU gets to enjoy a taste of the sales for their own good.
“They have been doing it for us since 1976, so next year is going to be 50 years and the proceeds from the 3 days of selling these donated books from year around go towards building up the collections here at LSU libraries, especially hill memorial library special collections” Fontenot said.
Thousands of books were sold over the 3-day period and the community got to add to their collections for a very little price.
LSU will be hosting more events like this in the future but there are no set dates yet.
