Every Tuesday through July 29, BREC offers a beginner adult tennis class from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants learn the basics of strokes, grips and scoring in a welcoming group setting. Sessions start at $40 a person. Walk-in registration is accepted, making it easy to jump in and start swinging.

The LSU Museum of Art presents Carved & Crafted: The Art of Letterpress, on view all summer. This exhibition explores the centuries-old printing process through the work of Jim Sherraden, artist and musician Jon Langford and Hatch Show Print, the renowned Nashville-based letterpress atelier. Visitors will see original and historic Hatch poster restrikes, early prints by Sherraden and current collaborative works with Langford, all celebrating craftsmanship, tradition and the handmade in a digital world.

Threads of Evolution: The Art of Queen of Sparkles | Louisiana Art & Science Museum
Threads of Evolution at LASM celebrates the dazzling rise of Jaime Glas Odom, LSU alumna and founder of Queen of Sparkles. Formerly a petroleum engineer, Odom transformed her career by launching a sequin-drenched fashion line now sold in over 1,500 boutiques across the U.S. The exhibition showcases a vibrant array of garments, from gameday glam to jazz-inspired couture — along with a special 1920s-inspired piece created with her husband, Hunter Odom of Second Line Shirts, to honor LASM’s historic train station centennial. Visitors can experience Odom’s unique blend of technical precision and joyful creativity. Museum admission required.

Tea Time at the Museum: A Most Delightful Teatime | Louisiana Art & Science Museum
End your week in elegance at LASM’s A Most Delightful Teatime, a Bridgerton- and Jane Austen-inspired adult tea party celebrating the 250th birthday of one of literature’s most beloved authors. Held Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., guests will tour current exhibitions before gathering for premium teas and a beautifully curated menu catered by The Banten House Tea Room, featuring finger sandwiches, scones with lemon curd and Devonshire cream and desserts. Enjoy breathtaking Mississippi River views and a tranquil, immersive experience set with vintage teacups, fine linens and attentive service, limited to just 36 guests. Period-inspired attire is encouraged but not required. Tickets are $50 per person, and booking is highly recommended as space is extremely limited. Ages 12 and up only.
