As student numbers are rising, the chance of securing football tickets in Tiger Stadium subsides. Many students have been left without tickets this gameday season. Did the issue arise due to a large influx of students, or did the system LSU has in place fail us?
Tiger Stadium’s student section can hold 14,000 students for each gameday. Upperclassmen were disappointed to find that tickets were sold out before they even logged onto the website. Many students reported receiving multiple charges to their card after trying to secure tickets. Many of these charges were incorrect which made students anxious about LSU’s ability to handle incoming students.
Even after tickets were completely sold out, the system had experienced a glitch causing students to face pending charges for tickets that didn’t even exist. Along with not being able to get tickets, ticket prices have skyrocketed about 15% since last year’s ticket sales.
Freshmen are often offered different ticket packages to purchase allowing them to definitely experience games their freshmen year. However, due to the system glitch, even freshmen weren’t promised tickets for this season.
