A 16-year-old male was arrested in connection with the on-campus shooting that injured two people on Saturday during LSU’s homecoming football game, according to WBRZ.
The suspect was booked for two counts of attempted first-degree murder, carrying a firearm on campus, illegal use of a weapon and illegal use of a weapon by a juvenile, according to WBRZ.
BRPD told WBRZ that the incident started because of an altercation between two parties.
LSUPD dispatched officers to the scene around 8:30 p.m. and gave the all-clear at 9:33 p.m. LSUPD told the Reveille Sunday that the investigation was turned over to BRPD Saturday night.
The investigation is still ongoing.
After the shooting prompted community concerns about campus safety, LSU released a statement Monday reaffirming its confidence in its game day security.
