November is National Career Development Month, and every year, students are looking for their future careers, whether it is something they are passionate about or their backup plan after college.
Most students tend to be unsure about what career they want to pursue after graduating, due to a lack of awareness or confusion about what path they should take.
At LSU, places like the Olinde Career Center have resources to help students take that major step into finding their career.
The Olinde Career Center can help students with resume writing, job guidance, and even offer a tailored closet for students to borrow when they have an important interview.
LSU’s Career Center Director, Jesse Downs, explains the importance of helping students find their future careers with resources at LSU.
“Helping students leverage the full [amount] of resources available to them, take full advantage of all the experiences they have as a student, or to propel them to success is something I think is just necessary in our work,” Downs said.
Finding a career is tough and sometimes stressful, so it is important to follow your heart while receiving proper guidance and taking care of yourself.
If you want to figure out what you want to do after graduation or if you just need someone to look over your resume, the Olinde Career Center is open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Student Union.
