LSU has officially hired Lane Kiffin, according to a social media post made by Kiffin on Sunday.
Kiffin will bring much of his offensive staff from Ole Miss with him to Baton Rouge, including offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.
Kiffin, considered one of the sport’s top offensive minds and top coaches available in this cycle, will leave Ole Miss in the middle of a season where its spot in the College Football Playoff is all but guaranteed.
Kiffin has been LSU’s clear top target throughout the entire coaching search, reports have said, since LSU fired former head coach Brian Kelly on Oct. 26.
Kiffin’s contract is being reported as a 7-year deal, with around $100 million value. He will also reportedly be provided with $25-30 million annually for roster building.
Kiffin joins the Tigers following a 7-5 regular season, which closed out on Saturday with a near upset over No. 8 Oklahoma.
