The LSU Tiger Girls have arrived in Orlando, Florida, where they will compete against the top programs in the country for the 2026 UDA College & Dance Team National Championships this weekend.
They are four-time DIA Hip Hop national champions, most recently in 2022 and 2024, but only placed sixth last year after reaching the finals. During the performance to Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River,” some of the dancers’ umbrellas — used as props during the dance — malfunctioned mid-routine.
LSU’s jazz performance just missed the cut for the finals with a 12th-place overall finish after the semi-finals. In 2024, the group placed third with a dance to “Are You That Somebody” by Aaliyah, a program-high finish in the category.
This year, the Tiger Girls are looking to top that with a brand new set of routines they’ll hope can capture a fifth national title.
Competition begins on Friday, Jan. 16, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex with LSU taking the floor at 5:48 p.m. CT to wrap up the DIA Jazz prelims. The Tiger Girls will unveil their hip hop routine in the semifinals on Saturday night at 8:56 p.m. CT.
All performances and award ceremonies can be streamed live with a subscription to Varsity TV.
Finals for jazz and hip hop will take place on Sunday, Jan. 18, and final results will be announced that day starting at 2:15 p.m. CT.
