The LSU Tigers gymnastics team defeated the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday night in the PMAC.
Gymnasts Lexi Zeiss, Konnor McClain, and Kailin Chio all confidently spoke to the media about their mindset going into their home opener.
All-Around Kailin Chio scored a perfect 10.000 Friday night against the Wildcats.
“I don’t really think about my individual success; I’m doing my gymnastics for this team. At the end of the day, this team wants a national championship. I’m just trying to do my best gymnastics for them. Just trusting the coaches of their decisions left and right. Yes everytime I go out there I want to do my best, but I want to do my best for this team to get us in the right direction every time,” Chio humbly stated.
After the sold-out PMAC crowd went wild once seeing Chios’ perfect score. Her teammates were filled with joy and excitement to see Chios’ success. One especially proud teammate was All-Around Konnor McClain.
“She goes up there every single week, and she puts up those routines. That’s what we need on this team is just a solid competitor, and that’s exactly what she is,” McClain said.
Make sure to stay tuned as the Tigers take on Missouri on the road next Friday night.
