The day after a tough loss to Bethune-Cookman, LSU Baseball players spoke to the media about their thoughts on the game and what to expect going into Ole Miss on Friday.
Redshirt Junior Pitcher Gavin Guidry spoke on his mentality moving forward and how to help grow the team to advance in the postseason.
“Regardless of how your individual performances are going, you can’t let that weigh down on you more than how the team is going. We are really starting to turn things around, and things are going in the right direction again,” Guidry expressed.
Over the weekend, the LSU Tigers played against Tennessee in Knoxville and won 2/3 of their games in the series. On the last day, Catcher Cade Arrambide broke the record with four home runs in one game.
“That’s the kind of stuff you dream about as a kid. To be able to do that was amazing; it was unreal. It was a huge gift from God, especially on Easter Sunday,” Arrambide said.
After returning home, they then played the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats in Baton Rouge and lost 7-10. Making Bethune-Cookman’s record now 23-10 while ours dropped to 22-12.
As the Tigers try to shake their most recent loss off, they leave for Oxford soon with an attempt to win against another big SEC rival.
“Last night after the game, Coach basically told us that since we lost last night, we are going to have to win two more SEC games,” Arrambide mentioned.
With LSU now having a 6-6 record in SEC play, they need to make sure that their next games are a top priority.
“I live and die for this team. I want us to win. I want us to succeed,” Arrambide said.
