LSU Baseball is making moves in the transfer portal after their dismal 2026 season. Wednesday, No. 1 portal prospect Bino Watters out of Notre Dame announced his commitment to the Purple and Gold.
The lefty outfielder earned All-ACC honors for his 2026 season where he slashed a monstrous .362/1.057/.610.
The addition of Watters brings a proven power-conference tested bat to the Tigers roster and possibly fills an open spot in the outfield after the exit of Jake Brown. Watters will enter LSU as a junior.
Head coach Jay Johnson also signed former Gonzaga right-handed pitcher Landon Hood to LSU. Hood posted a 2.48 ERA on the 2026 season, where he earned the title of 2026 West Coast Freshman of the Year. Hood joins the Tigers as a sophomore.
Texas State shortstop Dawson Park also will join the Tigers for the 2027 season. Park batted .301 during his freshman season for the Bobcats. Park will enroll as a sophomore for the Tigers.
After missing the postseason for the first time since 2011 LSU Baseball will look to revamp its roster for 2027. Jay Johnson has made it evident that he is not afraid to use the portal and he is making the moves to put the Tigers back on the throne of college baseball.
