Isis will be featuring The Smiths on May 2, 2013 - the stuff of high school mixtapes from their heyday in the eighties until today, the natural accompaniment to your daily Sylvia Plath and Oscar Wilde readings, and the band for those who wear black on the outside because black is how they feel on the inside.
But seriously, The Smiths were one of the best Alternative bands of the 1980s. They hailed from Manchester, England, the result of the songwriting collaboration between Steven Morrissey and Johnny Marr, and with significant musical contributions from Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce. In their five-year run they released only four albums, but those albums were prolific and have remained popular and influential.
Tune in at 7:30 on Thursday, May 2 for an hour and a half of Smiths awesomeness.
