Marc Myers is a journalist, author, and historian. His new book, Why Jazz Happened, is the first comprehensive social history of jazz. Myers is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, where he often writes on music and the arts. Among Myers’ accomplishments — he is the founder of a highly-rated daily jazz blog, JazzWax, which recently won the 2012 Jazz Journalists Association’s “Blog of the Year” award.
