Fraternity cook arrested for four counts of burglary and drug possession
On Feb. 27, LSU Police Department officers arrested Ryan Austin Whittington, 25, of 11601 Highway 61, for stealing items from the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house, said LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde.
On. Feb. 26, the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity contacted LSUPD, claiming members of the fraternity witnessed Whittington, a cook for the fraternity house, steal items from the house mother’s bedroom, Lalonde said.
On Feb. 27, Whittington admitted to stealing items from the house on several occasions to LSUPD investigators, Lalonde said.
Officers found Whittington in possession of 2.4 grams of cocaine at the time of his arrest, which he admitted to trading some of the stolen items to obtain, Lalonde said.
Investigators later discovered Whittington forged two checks belonging to the victim, Lalonde said.
Whittington was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for four counts of burglary, one count of misdemeanor theft, possession of schedule II narcotics and two counts of forgery.
Woman unaffiliated with University issued misdemeanor summons for online impersonation
On Feb. 24, a female victim reported to LSUPD officers claiming someone created a Facebook profile using the victim’s picture and detailed personal information, Lalonde said.
LSUPD investigators determined Lacy Anjelika Petkovich, 20, of 115 Gondrella Drive, to be a possible suspect, Lalonde said.
On Feb. 26, investigators contacted Petkovich, who admitted to creating the profile using pictures found online. The suspect also admitted the personal information was obtained through a conversation as the suspect cut the victim’s hair, Lalonde said.
Petkovich was issued a misdemeanor summons for online impersonation.
Custodian charged for felony theft
On Feb. 28, LSUPD officers arrested Danielle A. Henry, 29, 2211 72nd Ave., for stealing a ring valued at more than $500 from West Hall, Lalonde said.
LSUPD officers were contacted on Feb. 18 from the victim, who claimed the item was stolen from her room in West Hall.
LSUPD investigators determined Henry, a West Hall custodial worker, to be the only person in the room at the time of the theft, Lalonde said.
Henry later admitted to stealing the ring to LSUPD investigators, Lalonde said.
Henry also admitted to selling the ring to a Baton Rouge pawn shop, Lalonde said.
Henry was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for one count of felony theft.
